Convert MSWMM and Burn MSWMM to DVD

What is MSWMM?

A *.MSWMM is a project file of Windows Movie Maker; it is not a video file (more like a record file).

How to Convert MSWMM Files?

You can open *.MSWMM file in Windows Movie Maker (click "File -> Open Project Project...") and save the movie to your computer: go to the "Tasks" bar, click "Finish Movie" and then click "Save to my computer".

Open MSWMM File

Then Windows Movie Maker will ask you to enter a file name for your movie and choose a folder to save your movie. The movie will be saved as a WMV file in the PC.

After you have saved the MSWMM file to your computer hard drive as WMV video, you can now begin to convert the WMV file to the specific video format you need.

You may go and download Clone2Go Video Converter Professional to help you.

Convert MSWMM File

The steps are quite simple:

1. Import the WMV file to the program.
2. Choose an output format. For example, if you want to watch the movie on your iPad, you can choose "iPad MPEG-4 Movie" as the output format.
3. Start to convert.

How to Burn MSWMM to DVD?

To burn MSWMM to DVD, you will need DVD authoring software. Here, I'd recommend using Photo DVD Burner Professional. Below is the screenshot of this program:

Burn MSWMM to DVD

Let's take a look at how it performs:

1. Click "Organize" -> "Add Video Clips..." to import the video into the program. Note: Photo DVD Burner Professional only supports .avi video format. So you need to convert WMV (saved from MSWMM) to AVI file first. You also need to set the "video codec" to "msmpeg4v2" before conversion.
2. Go to the "Choose Menus" tab to choose a DVD menu template. You can also specify background music and background image, set font style, size, color, etc to customize the menu template.
3. Go to the "Burn Disc" tab to start burning videos to DVD.

How to Edit YouTube Video in Windows Movie Maker

The following guide is going to show you how to download YouTube videos for free, convert YouTube videos for Windows Movie Maker and edit YouTube videos in Windows Movie Maker. It is composed of three parts:

Part 1. How to download videos from YouTube for free

I'd like to recommend using the online YouTube downloader called GrabTube to download videos from YouTube. With this online converter, you can download and convert YouTube video to MP3, 3GP, AVI, FLV or MPG. It is as easy to use as:

1. Browse on over to http://www.grab-tube.com/converter where the converter lives and you will see a screen that looks like this:

Download YouTube videos for free

2. The URL bar at the top of the screen lets you simply paste a URL of the YouTube video to download. Drop down the format next to it and hit the download button.

3. You will see the next screen with links to download the file to your computer. With the file, you can then use the service to convert it to another file type.

Part 2. How to convert YouTube videos for Windows Movie Maker

The videos downloaded using GrabTube are in MP4/3GP/FLV format. In order to put them onto Windows Movie Maker, you still need to convert the videos to AVI/WMV format. I always use Clone2Go Video Converter to convert between common video formats including AVI and WMV. Apart from a video converter, this piece of software can also be used to download videos from YouTube. So, back to Part 1, if the size of the video you are going to download from YouTube is larger than 40 MB or if you failed to get a high Internet connection, you can simply use this video converter to download YouTube videos.

Convert YouTube videos for Windows Movie Maker

Note: Windows Movie Maker needs external codec to decode mp4, xvid and mpeg2 video. To skip this trouble, please select "Customized AVI Movie(*.avi)" profile and adjust "video codec" to "msmpeg4v2", "video size" to "Original" to get AVI video accepted by Windows Movie Maker.

Part 3. How to edit YouTube videos in Windows Movie Maker

After you get the output video clip downloaded and converted from YouTube, now you can begin to put it into your Windows Movie Maker.

Click on "File". Then click on "Import into collections". A window will appear. In the window, navigate to the video clip you downloaded and converted from YouTube just now. Then double click on the file. You'll see the icon for the file in your Windows Movie Maker "Collections".

Edit YouTube videos in Windows Movie Maker

About Windows Movie Maker:

Windows Movie Maker is a totally free program that comes with Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Professional, and Windows Vista (also called Windows DVD Maker). Below are the media formats accepted by Windows Movie Maker:

How to Add iTunes DRM Music to Your Slideshow Project

If you are building a photo DVD slideshow project and want to add iTunes DRM music (m4p) as the background music, you will be faced with the nasty DRM issue. One way to resolve it is to burn iTunes DRM music to an audio CD and rip it back as MP3. Then you will be able to import the output MP3 file into the slideshow and use it as the background music. However, it is a waste of CD discs if you have lots of music tracks needed to be burned and re-ripped.

Another way is to go and download TuneClone Audio Converter to help you easily and quickly convert iTunes music to mp3 via virtual CD burning. There is no need for CD discs and it fully supports batch conversion. The original music tracks in your iTunes library will be kept intact. And the meta information of the music will be well preserved.

Follow this guide to learn how to get your iTunes music DRM free.
